I like the oldies vibe Jim and Smridevan. However Smridevan, in that first shot of your last post the guy with the dslr in the background ruins it for me. Looks way too hightech for that vintage setting
Yeah, I agree...I guess I could blur him out but I probably won't be able to completely eliminate him. thanks for the input!
Nice shots guys with the 35/1.4!
Great pics here.
Smridevan : like second one
Jochenb : very nice shot, great framing !
Zhangyue : your "little green" is quite nice.
Lars : lovely shots with 1.4/35
akul: the first central park shot rendering is amazing.
Lieutenant Z: you certainly have your style on those high contrast lighting BW shots.
fracas: your 2nd night shot is my favorite out of last two pages. I wish we have such a nice scene in here. Even I do, I don't think I can go out just spending my time to shoot with busy life as I have, not to say with two kids around
Lars: the tree shot in previous page is really nice, I never tired to see those autumn color tree shot as here in Bay area, it is really boring for evergreen.
Smridevan: Love all your portrait shots, especially your first portrait shot in this page is really amazing. I love the sharpness, clarity and cool color tone. I kind of wish to see more portrait in this thread. Just my personal preference
Jochenb: very nice framing, like the building pattern and almost mono color.
Thanks guys for your comments. I do agree with you, zhangyue! I guess portraits are not as convenient to capture since you gotta find the models/people to shoot and it's hard to make them look good.
I don't know how flickr handle resize. I upload full 12M size there and let it automatic resize for me for presentation. Sometime, the picture looks OK, especially smaller size one and most of time 1024 one looks not as sharp and contrast as Original file, color seems wash out a little bit as well. How you guys handle that?
Uzay, the bridge shot is very nice.
Lieutenant, sunset shot has a great mood to it.
Zhangyue, I really like the color in the first shot...makes me want to reconsider the 35/1.4.
here's a tip for 35mm and 50mm users. I am using Nikon caps for my 35mm 2.0 and 50mm makro-planer, as you see: * my shots were taken with Zeiss 100 Makro-Planer V1 on D3s, a single PCB Einstein light. Just quick snaps, dust and all, lol. Gosh I hate dust.
Pretty cool huh? Never have to remove the hood this way.
