Jochenb, just curious. Is that something that when you show the picture to an average Norwegian he knows immediately what it is? Or do you have scenes like that just lying around everywhere, and only the locals know about most of them?

Lieutenant Z: the color-gray composition is very very nice!
Hugo: great landscape!
Jim: I like it - is it a setting by default or by design?

It was a fast snapshot (not easy with the ZE 100) at a temple in Kyoto. These three women were the only visitors and as I approached the temple they just crossed the front side of the temple.
An utterly beguiling image! I love the perfect placement of the three women across the scene, the suspicious glance of the one on the left, the middle one seems unaware and the one on the right, seems aware but coy! Even the positions of their feet as they walk are different and interesting.
A question from this non-Zeiss (yet) owner:
I am in love with this thread. Should I buy a ZE 50 1.4 for my 1 D Mk III, or is a C/Y Planar T 50 1.4 as good / the same lens ?? The Photozone test of a ZE on a Canon 5D Mk 2 seems unconvincing, yet the images I see here, including those of the ZE 50 1.4, are mightily impressive.
I got rid of a ZE 50/1.4 and love my C/Y 50/1.4 -- one of the sharpest lenses I've ever owned, with great color and contrast. A terrific value. I happily forego the focus indication and exif info and use a simple adapter. I use Canon bodies too.

Markus, your web site is gorgeous.
Thanks! - Although I'm feeling currently not very happy with my web site, because I haven't managed to update it in the last 2 years and am working on a new design for over a year now without having the time to finish it...

A very nice idea. That's something I should do myself more often. 20 years ago I did a lot of set up shots, but sadly that kind of creativity got somehow lost. So shots like yours are always an inspiration for me to try something like this again.
thanks Greggf and akul! I'd been looking at this board for a while and wondered when I'll get my hands on one of these precious little metal barrels to post something
it truly lives upto the hype .. and its a good thing that i've been practising MF with rokinons and AI-S' for the last couple of months. loving it!
Here's one of my son out with me while i was shooting flowers on our street.

No that shot was on a fairly remote location, only reachable by boat. So nothing well known (which I like )

Lars,
you are doing a nice job in presenting nearly the same scene with slightly different angles and light thus making each shot unique.
+1
Liutenant Z: I like your "leaves on the ground" shot on the previous page
