Did any of you compare the 100/2 ZE to 100/2.8L IS Macro? I have the 100/2.8L and the IS is really amazing, but I also have 50/2 ZE which I love and it's making me think about selling the 100/2.8L for the 100/2 ZE. I use the 100L macro lens mostly for flowers and occasional portrait.
I purchased the 100ZE to replace my 100IS, but I still keep both. The Canon has flatter looking image, but the IS and weather sealing are very practical and the Canon has discernibly less CA. In addition, the Canon goes to 1:1 and has pretty good AF. I would say one is an artist's tool and the other is a work horse.
I don't have any direct comparisons, but about a month ago there was a thread in the Alt forum with blind test of several ~100mm lenses including the ZE and IS and I believe Samuli provided some samples and comments recently as well.

Thanks for the comments. I took my 100L to botanical garden yesterday and with the help of IS every single photo was blur free, the colors were nice, and sharpness was great as well. After seeing the results with my Zeiss 50/2 ZE, I have a feeling that the Zeiss rendering may benefit flower photography. The 50/2 outdoor shots look like they were taken with a polarizer and I started thinking about how that would look with 100/2. The 100L is just such a workhorse as you said, it has IS, is light, AF, weather sealing, 1:1 magnification. Oh how I wish Zeiss had a 150 or 200mm ZE macro so I could justify owning both 100L and Zeiss. Decisions, decisions...
Edit:
Here's a link to all the 100L photos I took yesterday in case you're interested: http://photo.kupcik.com/Private/Family/2010-04-03-Atlanta-Botanical/
The place was amazing, but I need to come there without wife and a kid next time to have sufficient time to think the photos through.

I agree, Zeiss should really release something longer. I almost bought the 200 f2L IS,
but decided against it because of the size and because of the look, which unfortunately is not
Zeiss... Please, if you read it, Zeiss 200 f2.8 ZE, not much larger than 100MP ZE.

Man, Snowboarder, you live in a flower photogs heaven.
Only for a couple of months, but I'm having a blast this year
Thanks to Zeiss. Seriously, I'm so much more excited and interested in photography
since I bought my Zeiss lenses. Photography gives my much more fun now.
I seen a test I believe with a bunch of 100s or near 100mm lenses... It was shot with a group of purple flowers.
The Zeiss and Leica were so close I had to download both and overlay them to make sure they weren't the same photo. I realized there were "slight" differences between the two shots, but examining the images for so long peaked my interest in the Zeiss glass (as originally I was looking on the alt thread for images of the 85ZE).. After a bit more research I picked up the 100MP ZE, that led to the 50MP ZE, which lead to the 35ZE..... I'm ultra happy, but super broke, as far as lens funds are concern
As spring has definitely sprung here in Atlanta, I went over to a neighbor's house a couple of days ago to see the flowers. Their gardens are really something, and my feeble attempt to capture some of their beauty does not do them justice. I am told that their gardens don't have nearly the number of tulips that they used to. They only planted 14,000 this year, instead of 40,000 of some previous years! Anyway, here are a few shots--all with the ZE 100 MP, all wide open except #2 (F5.6). This was my second day attempting to learn how this lens works....
