Thanks Luka, Martynas, MJWong, and Akul, really appreciate the comments.
Gary, another cracking shot with the dead trees, love it! I was under the impression that the 50mm was not a great candidate for the infamous 3D, but I see it in that footbridge shot.
Hugo, the “Lagoa de Fogo” shot in particular is wonderful. Makes me feel like I am there, and what a beautiful location!
So many great photos it is hard to keep track of them all.
Nice photo akul.
jph1, great colours in that photo
You make good use of the 28 Philippe, my favourite is the third one from the first set. I also like the portrait of the two big cats (lions?).
Carsten, great set.
Luka, I like the dramatic lightning in the last one.
I like the dfferent lines and use of dof in the ffirst photo Todd.
Wow, thanks Philippe, for the interesting explications, both about Vaux-le Vicompte and the Zeiss 28mm. I never heard the story of Louis quatorze and Nicolas Fouquet, but indeed my knowledge of history is quite limited.
I absolutely know that state when the never- ending interest and focus on equipment limits creativity rather than helping it. That's why I am trying to make my equipment smaller right now, at least in terms of lenses. In the end, 3 zeiss lenses (plus one or 2 AF lenses for the rest) could be enough for me. The 28 sounds like a lens that could suit me, I may try to find one and try it, now that I have sold my 25mm Distagon.
Here are two from yesterday's walk across the Jewish Cemetery in Berlin with Carsten(w), I hope he doesn't mind me posting my shot of him shooting the ZF 100mm :-)
The amazing thing about this cemetery is that a lot of the older parts of it have become forest again, fallen trees lie over the gravestones without being removed. The one in this photo reads "sleep well". A true scenery of fugacity,
which can also be seen in the shots with wider angle, that I posted in the C/Y35-70 thread.
Salut de Berlin et encore une fois merci,
Bernhard
Thanks, Philippe! And thanks for running the Lightroom "MoreWrinkles" plugin over my face before posting, Bernie!
Philippe, if you are having trouble with feeling inspired, take one or two lenses, and go somewhere unusual. Getting stuck in a rut can have to do with too much familiarity. Try a new subject.
There's been lots of stunning shots on here in recent weeks! Brilliant stuff from the old skool posters in this thread, plus it's great to see some other new guys making their presence known. Mast3rChi3f in particular - fantastic stuff!
I only had a few hours in Zurich recently, but took the chance for a late walk around the old town. I escape the heat in Dubai by taking nightshots during the summer and early autumn, and end up taking more nightshots in Zurich! Still, I was visiting a new addition to the family and as she's only 3 weeks old it doesn't leave much time for taking photographs in town - time enough only for a few 'twee' shots around the old town.
Here are a few night shots of Grossmunster and Fraumunster:
Well thanks Philippe. BTW, did you recently post some images from the (excuse the spelling) Jardin de luxembourg? It looked familiar as I was there several years ago.
No, I did not. My pics were from the Chateau de Chantilly, the Chateau de Vaulx le Vicomte, and a few from the Paris Bourse. But your spelling is fine...
