I shot some panos today with the 100MP and Gigapan Pro, trying to simulate a large format camera look.

So, is it worth the hassle? No, not really. The gigapan weighs a lot and doesn't fit in any normal camera bag. Composing the images is extremely difficult as the final image projections the stitching software does is impossible to predict. Closeups such as these ones are further complicated by parallax error which confuse the stitching software and manual corrections are needed. Finally the workflow is much more messy than with standard images.
For regular panoramas (I'll post some later) it's fine but for this type of large format DOF simulation it's simply too much work - both when shooting and in post.

Luka, these are great, but from the first look I did not realize they were panos, but I have no trained eye on motifs like these. However, if I didn't knew how unbelievable the ZF100 is, your pictures always show.

probably should have waited for someone else to go after Luka.....
Ryan, especially the second one is great. Dramatic in a very subtle way.

I am gradually learning to really enjoy my ZE28. Yes, there is a learning, curve, and, yes, it is neither a "smaller 21", nor a "wider 35", and yes, it has to much CA, but the FL is a joy for cityscape, it is sharp from really close to infinity once you know how to use the DOF, and it holds contrast better than any other Zeiss I have had.
Completely agree, philber. Strong portrait orientated as I am I too seldom make good use of my ZF28, but whenever I do, I am amazed. When I went to London this year I only took ZF28 and ZF85 with me and ZF28 was a joy to use for street and city. It's my most-loved-less-used lens.

Nice shot Philippe The rendering with the ZE 28/2 is unique and different and has its definite strengths.
Here are some shots this evening with the ZM 25/2.8 and M9.
Wow! Charles! I need a holiday. Those sceneries always remind me to not get burned out by the big city. So many dreams and only so little time.

Since there is nothing spectacular around so I continue with floral shooting - 7D+100ZE
Ah, Peire, I get it: Since there was nothing spectacular around, you just decided to create something spectacular.
Big-time macro work!

Second time out with the Zeiss 21mm Distagon. Still playing and learning. All handheld in low light. I love the MFD on this lens as well.
All very nice, 3rd I love. Tensed to see, what you show once you finished playing.

@ Bernd: wonderful portraits, love to see more! Can you tone down that big white OOF (chair?) a bit, or even crop it out?
Thank you, Karel! I could do both, but for the forum I just wanted to leave it as shot. (It's the foot of a loudspeaker btw.)
Now this from today is slightly cropped. Exif say 50/f/2, but it's wrong, ZF50/2 couldn't do so lovely.
ZF85, f/1.4, D3:

Kind regards,
