Remarkable shots Peire. My favorite is #7 but they are all excellent.

Great shots Luka, as usual!

Peire, excellent shots! Brilliant colours and a lot of bite. Great to see the combo of the 7D and the 100MP.

I shot some panos today with the 100MP and Gigapan Pro, trying to simulate a large format camera look.

So, is it worth the hassle? No, not really. The gigapan weighs a lot and doesn't fit in any normal camera bag. Composing the images is extremely difficult as the final image projections the stitching software does is impossible to predict. Closeups such as these ones are further complicated by parallax error which confuse the stitching software and manual corrections are needed. Finally the workflow is much more messy than with standard images.

For regular panoramas (I'll post some later) it's fine

Luka, these are great, but from the first look I did not realize they were panos, but I have no trained eye on motifs like these. However, if I didn't knew how unbelievable the ZF100 is, your pictures always show.

Ryan, especially the second one is great. Dramatic in a very subtle way.

I am gradually learning to really enjoy my ZE28. Yes, there is a learning, curve, and, yes, it is neither a "smaller 21", nor a "wider 35", and yes, it has to much CA, but the FL is a joy for cityscape, it is sharp from really close to infinity once you know how to use the DOF, and it holds contrast better than any other Zeiss I have had.

Completely agree, philber. Strong portrait orientated as I am I too seldom make good use of my ZF28, but whenever I do, I am amazed. When I went to London this year I only took ZF28 and ZF85 with me and ZF28 was a joy to use for street and city. It's my most-loved-less-used lens.

Nice shot Philippe The rendering with the ZE 28/2 is unique and different and has its definite strengths.

Here are some shots this evening with the ZM 25/2.8 and M9.

Wow! Charles! I need a holiday. Those sceneries always remind me to not get burned out by the big city. So many dreams and only so little time.

Ah, Peire, I get it: Since there was nothing spectacular around, you just decided to create something spectacular.
Big-time macro work!

Second time out with the Zeiss 21mm Distagon. Still playing and learning. All handheld in low light. I love the MFD on this lens as well.

All very nice, 3rd I love. Tensed to see, what you show once you finished playing.

@ Bernd: wonderful portraits, love to see more! Can you tone down that big white OOF (chair?) a bit, or even crop it out?

Thank you, Karel! I could do both, but for the forum I just wanted to leave it as shot. (It's the foot of a loudspeaker btw.)

Now this from today is slightly cropped. Exif say 50/f/2, but it's wrong, ZF50/2 couldn't do so lovely.

Another outstanding portrait Bernd.I use ZE 85/1.4 from time to time but never be able to get correct focus at wide apertures as you do.

Peire,
Lovely floral shots. One thing I don't have is a macro and a 100ze or contax 100 converted is looking pretty good right now ;-)

Not only Distagon 21 can be used this way. The 28 and 35 as well. Only the 25 cannot, I believe, due to its construction without a floating element...

Yes, the 21 produces very realistic results (as do the other ZE lenses). It gives you the feeling of being there. The 35/1.4 produces more of an indirect interpretation of the scene - it has a more artistic rendering style.

Anyway, here are a couple of mixed Z* lens shots from about a month ago when I visited a farm/plantation:

Phew! This damn ZF21 is responsible that I did not made it into real wide angle fun the last years. It's so good, that I cannot pick up any other - no other would match my other ZFs so perfect anyway - and at the same time I do not want to add such big lens to my heavy kit as seldom as I do wide angle. Maybe I would do more once I have it? Oh, sweet dilemma!

Thank you, Gentlemen!

It was only natural window light, hazy but soft - I love it.

To be true, shooting an 85 at f/1.4 at mfd is almost photographical suicide. I prefer manual focus for this, but I occasionally miss focus too and especially with a person this close, you have to watch your position very precise to get both eyes in focus. I do it every now and then, but at such close distance f/2-f/2.8 are also very sweet aperture choices.

Philber, that 28 sure does make you change your style to make best use of it....but you are doing a great job! Makten would be proud

And Bernd...THAT is how the 85 is supposed to be used....excellent work
