Don,
1st is my pick. But I'd prefer to step down to get thicker DOF.
Thank you for taking the time to comment on my images! I think it's always fun to experiment with the different depth's of field. Sometimes I like what I've captured, and others times not so much At least I'm not blowing thru rolls of film trying, lol.
A small, gothic village church in Małujowice/Mollwitz from 1250 is called Silesian Sistina for a reason. Its entire ceiling and walls are covered with medieval frescoes painted in 1336-1364 by local artists. They present biblical scenes and are an example of how attempts were made to communicate to illiterate people what is written in the Bible. When you are inside, you can easily imagine that time has gone back seven centuries.

There is another important historical event connected with the church and the village. The day 10.04.1741 there was a great battle at Małujowice / Mollwitz between Prussians and Austrians. The first of the battles of Silesian wars. Frederic the Second, King of Prussia, commanded his army for the first time in the field and won thanks to his commanders, although he escaped from the field before the battle ended.
On the tower of the church, holes from Prussian cannonballs are still visible, bricked up with brighter bricks.

Just a quick pic of my pal, as we are sitting out on the front porch watching the passersby. Taken with my Nikon Df / Zeiss Planar 50/1.4 ZF.2 at f1.4 and 1/500 sec.
Love the image!
This has a very special feeling and mood to it, quite perfect lighting and PP for my taste!
Great lens and camera, but definitely great knowledge how to use it and the eye to catch the scenery!
