The camera body will definitely affect the scores, but in this case they tested both the classic lens and the Milvus on the Nikon D800E and the Milvus looks a lot better. The differences is likely copy variation. DXO tests just one lens and if they go a dud for the classic lens and a very good copy of the Milvus, then you can get very different results. Just one of the problem with DXO lens tests, which suck in a lot of ways, but I do think their sensor tests are useful.
That makes sense. Somehow I forgot sample variation issue, haha! What a wonderful world if there is no sample variation

Though I love the Zeiss lenses on my D700, I still can not get used to the weight. Before digital I shot Contax G and this was perfect.
My DSLR is too little used so it will be sold. I'll switch to Foveon and X.
Thanks all here for inspiration though. For sure I'll come back to lure ...
Wow, Peire, your mastery of the palette is really obvious in these shots. Did you correct any linear distortion for the Distagons? Not that Orthodox churchs necessarily have straight lines!

DXO score, if I remember correctly, is also dependent on testing body, so if previous testing was done on old 12 mp body, and new one on 36+ mp body. I assume the score would be affected ? I could be wrong, but that is what I vaguely I remember.
Luka
if that's the case DXO should make them uniform across the board.

Thank you rico. No,I did not have to correct any linear distortion. If you keep the Distagon 18/3.5 ZF horizontally, without tilting, there is no need to do that in most cases. If I were puristic perfectionist,I could have tweaked a little this and that,but....
