I think it is OK to comment on the model if the image speaks to the viewer.
It is a fantastic image that forces the viewer to wonder about him.
I see a once-nerdy kid that wanted to be "cool" so he tried to do so by getting tats, sporting the wax mustache, etc.
again, no disrespect to model or photographer, but this image goes way beyond the typical headshot. i find myself staring at it wanting to know more about him.
"Uncommon" subject and therefore interesting !
Nice portrait !
Someone is refering to "shooting film".
Frankly, to me, it doesn't look like a "pleasant" grain, more like a "noise".
You might want to elaborate your workflow ?

I certainly didnt get that from your initial post. Glad you clarified.
Agree with explanation of valid commenting on the model.
Nice charismatic portrait here. Would you consider offering a color version here? Not that I'm disagree with your monochrome effort here, but if it's a color file I'd enjoy seeing what that might offer given what I imagine to be the palette of his body art.
Love the picture and the engagement it brings. Good work on it.
gheller-- I am curious as to why would you associate this particular model with jail (I hope I am correct in understanding that was what you implied with your "behind bars" comment)
I am not trying to start anything, I am just very curious.
