p.3 #1 · How do you light the Reception?

Mark,

I can appreciate where you're coming from but I, for one, don't mind at all reveling all my "secrets". If I can help someone learn, I'm happy to do so. I've learned from trial and error as well but I also learned at the heels of some very wonderful and talented people.

Competition is good for me. It helps to keep me on my game.

You're right about competition being good for you, but (I think sam) had a thread on here about removing exif data and the like... basically there is a crowd of togs in his area figuring out "to the tee" exactly what he does and trying to pry his clients from him.

I have no problem with someone posting a few pics and asking how to improve upon the lighting here... but "how do you do your job" threads are a little hard to swallow sometimes. That is why the mechanic charges $85 for a quote when once he tells you what is wrong with the car, you go to autozone and fix it yourself... same here... but a little different.

I can't say that I haven't learned anything here at FM, but when it comes down to it, I learned much more by getting out and shooting.... then I tweaked it in by coming here for feedback.

I have a wedding this weeekend and it's all outdoor with no roof top to bounce light. I probably have to light up with 4 strobes at different area of the venue. Thanks for the shots Spencer these help me a little in getting the idea on how to light it up.
