p.7 #1 · do u prefer flash photography or available light?

You were insulted by my original post, but I had clearly stated that I was wondering if an understanding of flash exposure was one of the reasons some people have a fundamental objection to using flash. So, you either missed my use of the qualifier, "some", or you were insulted in spite of this.

No, your statement was poorly worded.
Your statement was:

So, why do some people have a fundamental objection to using flash?

Is the difficulty of understanding flash exposure vis-a-vis ambient exposure one of the reasons? Would you be more inclined to use flash if you understood how flash exposure works?

That implies that all the people who object using flash do so because they simply don't understand how to use it..."some of" is in the wrong place.

A less inflamatory would be to say "some of the people who object to using flash do so because they don't understand how flash exposure works."

Sure you have, you just didn't know it because it was so well done.

:)

lol...that is entirely possible. Let me rephrase:

I have rarely seen a photo that I knew to be artifically lit that I couldn't tell by looking at it.

My statement does not imply that, "all people who object to using flash do so because they simply don't understand how to use it." I was asking if difficulty of understanding (which is not as absolute as no understanding at all) could be one of the reasons. It was phrased as a question, not an assertion as you put it. Respondents can answer that it is not one of the reasons.

If this doesn't clarify my original statement, then I'll concede that my words were insulting to you, and for that I apologize.
