You are quite right, Ryan but the point is exactly that I *can* do it handheld. I'm pushing it basically as far as it goes in terms of light - the boat shot was f/1.4, ISO 3200. The price is nasty CA (which I suppose I could fix with a bit of work in post).
Really nice shot Luka! I must admit I have an affinity for fast lenses, and the narrow DOF, as the expense of CA, but the above shot is great. Love the clouds.
Just spoke to a major distributor, and it is expected as it has been suggested, the announcement for the Z* 35/1.4 will be at Photokina.
Thanks Charles! Yes, the Z* 35/1.4 seems a certainty by now. The big question is if it will come out in ZE mount immediately and how long it will take before it is actually available. I remember that the 100 MP took almost six months to reach the retailers after the announcement.

Thank Jim and Charles!
Yes, it is a water lily but lotus flowers are a pretty close cousin.
One difference is that the water lily flower closes up each night and the lotus doesn't.
Nice Anden - that lens looks good on the cropper - I always forget about those bodies - stage work would be perfect use of that combo - classic "Telecaster" shot - the silhoutte figures really set it up.
This thread just kills me, what a stunning bunch of images.
My zf35 is on the bay, the 24/1.4 is on hold till I see the redesigned 25 and I keep thinking I need an AF lens(I have none) ...until I come back here like a baby looking for the comfort of a breast.

I know the feeling.I had no AF lenses until i purchased a Canon Nifty Fifty.Mostly just so someone else could take pictures of my wife and i when on vacation.Seems to have filled the void of wanting and AF lens.

Of the AF lenses I do have - I only get frustrated when the lens is set to AF and quickly turn them off - should it somehow get turned on.
As for the Contax 35/1.4 - blah-blah-blah about all the other comparing lenses - sharpness and other BS - this lens adds a look & feeling to the final image that I've never been able to see with any other lens in this focal range. It's like a fine musical instrument and in my case this lens is miles ahead of it's user - I hope to learn to catch up to it's true abilities someday. JMHO

If anyone is interested I am going to sell my copy of my Distagon 35mm. I really love that lens but i got the opportunity to grab a Leica 35mm 1.4 and as I have a Leica body it makes more sense for me to keep that one. And sadly I can't justify keeping both :-/
Btw, I think I'm going to do a little review as I have both for now. The Zeiss as less vigneting and better edge resolution wide open but I think i like the Leica bokeh a bit more.
