I hardly use my 1V since I got my 1Ds, I like to sell it but I can't get much for it these days. I guess I'll keep it until one day it's a collector's item then I'll sell it.

Even redundancy can be great! I owned 3 versions of the 70-200, 3 85L's along with a f1.8 version, a few 50's (f/1.2, f/1.4, f/2.5) (not to mention the boatload of 50's in FD mount), and i had a few lenses that would cover the 300mm FL, but I still have a 300 2.8 IS sitting here.

I've since come to my senses (well, sort of) and lightened the load a little, but I still have several overlaps/redundancies that I can't part with for some reason

Well, James, having three 85Ls would seem a bit redundant unless all three are being deployed in a concurrent manner. Yet, I agree, redendancy can be quite purposeful, and the word itself should not be assumed to carry a negative connotation a priori.

For example, as a result of lens copy "cherry picking", one might end up with a surplus copy or two to be disposed of eventually (or not).
Another example. There are some exceptional quality lenses which are not being serviced by Canon any longer. By having a backup copy ot two, one may be assured that at least one of them will continue to function till the end of time.

Why am I thinking of the 200 f/1.8?

Russian M-mount? I only know of LTM Elmar-like lenses.

Yes, that's one iconic EF lens for sure. There are others in my books.....50 f/1.0, 80-200L, 300 f/4 non-IS and 28-80L.

Me? It's a 1.4 TC MKII. Bought it, used it a couple of times and it sits in the bag. Ms Heather, your 70-200 f/4 IS will come alive on a FF. Trust me.

If only $2700 for a 5DMkII would come my way, although at this point, I might be happy with $1500 for an original 5D. Even if that were to happen, I'd have a hard time letting go of the 40D, as it was a birthday gift from my parents this year.

Although my basic lens kit is complete, I've still got a few more accessory-type of things that I want to pick up before I start saving for FF. In the meantime, what I'm really hoping will happen is that Canon will announce a new sub $2000 FF body similar to the Sony A850. In that case, I'd be going for one of those.

My wife's EOS. I bought it because I liked the idea of 'open' and lots of headroom. The goddess of light. And because I wanted her to experience EOSfun too

It's a Volkswagen, she would kill me if I sold it.

In the meantime put some film through it. You may fall in love with it all over again!

If I held on to everything I would have never started with digital I'd still be shooting with my Horseman 4x5 and Mamiya RZ67

I did sell my Horseman 4x5 about a year and a half ago, and I'll probably regret it sooner or later. But I still have the film holders and I'm still set up to process B&W 4x5 film. But my GraLab 300 timers seem to be getting more and more valuable.

I still have my RZ67 cameras...but I have written a letter to Santa asking for a full-size 6x7 digital back for Christmas.

It was very difficult to sell Zeiss 85/1.4. I kind of regret.
I used to do use 180/3.5L a lot. Now, I have not used it for last few years. But I'm not going to sell it.
