I agree. The site was never the best. Now it's even more awkward to find what you want. BOO!
The web site is downright terrible. Some of the pull downs don't even work. I wrote to them about it. I never got a response. I don't shop KEH anymore because of the site.
Actually, I have noticed of late that their selection/inventory has been better than usual AND a number of items are priced to move. For instance, I saw a Fuji GSW 690 II BGN yesterday for just a hair over $600 and when I checked on it later in the day, it had already sold. That's a pretty decent price given that there are few available even on ebay these days.
Their shipping seems to be a little flaky lately. Flaky is a good thing though - on one web order I received free shipping. I just placed another order yesterday and was charged $12.95 for Overnight Priority. A few months ago overnight would have cost me $50+.
So not to show my secret new source for great priced used gear, but I love B&H used department. They are 8 for 9 while KEH has been 0 for 9 as far as ratings and prices go. I got a v.4 35/2 Summicron-M from them in condition 7, which says it shows MAJOR wear and abuse. The class is clean, it works, but the exterior is a bit rough. What I would totally consider BGN condition, but had this been from KEH it would have surely been scratched or hazy or something else!
I've bought so much used stuff from B&H over the last year and out of all of it I've made one return; lens rated 8 had all of the lettering ground off of it with a dremel or something. Most was 8 or 8+, but several items rated 7 and one rated 9. If any of them had any scratches on the glass it was noted in the listing. 7 roughly correlates to just lower than BGN while I'd say an 8 at B&H is the equivalent rating of what a BGN is supposed to be from KEH.
bugs. timeouts. bad. but, bargain, gotta say, still rules. I got an F4 (BGN) due to LCD bleed, big woop. This is the F4 without the grip, slimmed down with MB-20 grip, $124, it looks real clean externally.
that's a nice price on the F4, an MB-20 on it's own is usually about $50-60. I just sold one of my F4s on ebay for $60 - it had LCD bleed, a broken diopter adj, and the film advance stopped working.
I just ordered from them and their computer system lost my order... more troubles..but customer service was responsive and said they should be able to fix it.
ha ha I ordered a bunch of items a few days ago. The order went thru fine. The money was transfered.
A day later they emailed me saying the money was withdrawn but the order was lost and they had to rebuild the order but by now half of the items had been sold. This has been going on for so long I don't think they care in improving their web site.

They haven't gotten back to me in 2 days.
:/
Want to know how many times customer service has said they'd call me back and they actually did? Zero times. Just call them back and bug them until something is resolved.
Though, I must say this current state of affairs on KEH's website is rather weird. I have made a few purchases from them the past few months with no problem whatsoever, including a couple returns and an exchange. This must be a recent issue. They've been good to me so far, so I won't discount them just yet.
I have bought from them many times over the past couple of years and have found their product very good. I like that I can send stuff back if it's not what I need. I must say however the new web site is so slow it's unusable. The old one was much better at least I could find what I wanted. I tried for 15 minutes to find Pentax 645 lenses and just gave up.

After no contact for 3 days i emailed them.
They had a "major problem" with paypal in addition to losing my order and the lens was also bought by someone else so they have to reverse that order and give mine priority.
I just wish they could get their technical issues in a row, as a first time buyer this is a frustrating experience.
They should put this up on their front page instead of accepting orders maybe.
