basketball is different to shoot, sometimes you miss too much when switching bodies. I shot my first basketball last year and if i had stobes to deal with too i'd been lost. It does take some time to get used to after shooting field sports and after a couple of games it was a lot easier. Just don't put too much on yourself at one time.
I just finished up my second game and preliminary stuff seems to be WAAAY better IMO. I'll try to post some of it up later tonight. This time I only used a strobe on my remote and I think overall everything turned out much better than last time.
Glad to hear the game went much better last night. Going back to my post (#15)

By different perspective I meant also a different location. It's pretty simple to carry 2 cameras, one with a 70-200 and one with a wide. The reason for this is simple, if you have a floor plate right beside you and someone comes crashing into you, your dodging the player and your floor plate/camera is gonna get crushed. You take that camera off the floor plate and keep it on you, it ain't getting touched if you move fast enough. Also, remember to think about the athletes safety, this is their game and we are there as guests. By putting the remote there when you don't need one you are also jeopardizing their safety. What I would rather see you do is mount the camera behind the backboard and run a trigger cable down to where you are sitting. A lot safer for the players & better angle for you.

Funny you mention that. Yesterday i had a player crash in to me and I got a bloody gum from it. No one was injured and i was able to grab my camera plate and protect it...however my face didnt fare as well as the camera I do plan on mounting behind the backboard but need to get special permissions for that first.
