I was hoping Canon realized the mistake they made for us night time sports shooters and fixed it in the firmware update......

Then I guess my 1Ds, 1Ds2, 1D3, 1Ds3 must be defective - they all illuminate the AF point in Servo mode by default (can be turned off).
