Yes, trying to. Just got a low battery warning, put in fresh batteries, pressed Power and its dead again - black screen. I think it's time to return it for another one.
I think you have a defective CC or corrupted Micro SD Card. Give customer service and they will get you going. Sorry for the problems. 1-800-443-5542

Wow! What a tremdous resource! I've had my CC for a couple of weeks now, love it as much as my Nikon SU-800 Commander and everything hs been fine until I noticed today that the "Hair C" light bar is black with a gray dot at the bottom. This means the light is active, but disabled - and I didn't disable it. I can't seem to enable it. The frequency is set to 3, and my three AB800s are set to CH 1, 2, and 3. Any advice would be appreciated. Also, twice today the CC froze, went blank, and would not wake up. I put it in my pocket and got a haircut (salon is just down the hallway from my studio). When I showed it to my barber it was on! It happened whil I was closing up (display screen froze, then went blank). After dinner, I tuened it on and the display was fine. I've change the batteries twice, but that doesn't help. Again, any advice would be appreciated....Show more →
Mine started doing the exact same thing the last time I used it.... channel number 3 would go black. I had to reload the settings from memory and it would work, and then go black again after a while. But the flash seemed to continue to fire at whatever was the last brightness setting.
I also found that when I change batteries, I have to remove the SD card and re-insert it to get the unit to start up. (Sometimes I have to do this several times.) I was told on the Buff technical forum that this start-up issue would be corrected in the next firmware upgrade.
Spent the afternoon working with the CC and I'm really impressed. It does everything as advertized - almost too easy. I've gone through the calibration procedures with my Sekonic meter and a Photovision exposure target and the values are dead on. Thanks Paul!
One small problem. I have three AB800s w/Cybersync receivers, a Cybersync Transmitter on camera controlled with a Cyber Commander. The Tracking button is in on all the lights and I have Recycle Indicator set to Model on the CC on all of them. Two of them (Channel 1 and 3) are not dimming when fired - the modeling light stays on at a constant level. Any advice would be appreciated.
I have observed similar irregularities. Those are avoided if your practice is to reload all channels from memory before strating a new session every day. The receivers seem to forget the latest settings in some conditions.
Thanks - I intend to make that a standard practice, although I am considering ordering CSR+s for studio work and using the CSRB+s for location shoots. By the way, Is the CSR+ always "On" and will I need a separate power cord?

CC cannot control dim when fired, slave on/off, beepers, etc. on AB or WL via CSR+/CSRB+ because these features are not available at the remote control jack of the AB light. You must select dim when fired at the back panel of your ABs and must use a dummy sync plug in the AB to disable the slave.
All CC features are accessible by Einstein and it's transceiver.
Thanks, Paul! I do remember reading that in the instruction manual, and I have dummy sync plugs inserted. I think all the buttons are pushed "in" on the back panel, which should cause the modeling light to dim (cycle) when fired. I'll check tomorrow afternoon at the Studio.
Is there any thoughts on creating a receiver for Canon and/or Nikon Speedlights that will enable adjusting the power from the Cyber Commander?
Thanks for pushing the limmits.

Sorry Mr Buff if this has been covered before.

Sorry - that would have to be an entirely different product and design.
