I am sorry to make many of you nervous about your lenses. But thank you very much for sharing. We will need to go out taking more pictures enjoying the lens before it finally falls apart (in may be 5 to 10 years)
fsiagian, zoom creep is when gravity will allow the zoom to alter while tilting the lens vertically. I was just guessing that maybe the 17-55 initially had that problem, so they tightened the zoom ring a bit. There are so many people reporting this, and pretty much always in the same specific spots. Many people may not notice it in day-to-day use, but if you test it next to something like the 70-200, it's very noticeable.

I see. I don't think I have that problem. Making the lens tighter may very well be solving the creep problem. That makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the information cheeba.
