since he repeatedly spoke in terms like "we" and "us" i assumed he was talking we professional photographers. the concept of continuing to grow and learn as a photographer is a good one, isn't it?
as i mentioned, i've been away without internet access and only glanced through the thread, but i certainly don't see how my suggestion that pursuit of knowledge is a good thing at any point in one's career earned me such an aggressive lashing.

Maybe "he" ought to be clearer?
I was in particular referring to comments made by other posters about who has work that "pwns" "rules" or what not. Let's be fair, who the poster is matters when it comes to comments on this forum. Some "first time wedding!" posters get raked over the coals unnecessarily and some forum darlings (who are pretty cool cats) sometimes get a pass. That a comment aimed at the greater community and not the OP. Granted, some of the comments made about national work, lighting ability and who could or couldn't have made a shot could have been interpreted as a veiled implication of status. Nevertheless, as I said my interest was more about addressing issues to the greater forum and not trying to start an internet fight.
I don't believe it was my intention to make myself feel better after posting my thoughts, but I can assure my fellow posters that I don't feel any better about what has transpired.

Yeah sometimes. Sergio gets a lot of that when he posts in people forum for example. Don't see that in this thread though. Seems like folks were trying to be constructive and polite, myself included.

Its constructive the first time you write it. It becomes non polite when its written a few times after the original poster says they disagree nicely a few times. I even explained why I disagreed.
Suffice it to say that although there have been no hard and fast rules broken here, it is time to take a break. Andy, I don't care how behind you are on your processing - we're goin' out!
