You sure have a small learning curve, great shots, love the teal.

Nope, the learning curve is still there, Larry, it's just that I didn't do too badly on its maiden outing. Now the hard part is fine-tuning the settings.
very well done with the new toy. Looks like you had better weather this day than the day we met up with Stephen & Johnny.
Well done Steve - still hoping Destined will get well enough for me to go out on Sunday.
# 1, 2, 3, & 8 are my favorites. I got to catch myself one of those Nutmegs....
Lil
Thanks, Lil. Yes, better weather than our outing at the garden, though we had good light on the Orange Bishop, just couldn't get the right angle on him...Maybe we'll see Nutmegs at the Arboretum today, you never know. I'll be satisfed with Woodies and Mandarins, though...
Reminds me of the first time I shot a Mannikin in OC. Couldn't find it in my bird guide and had convinced myself I'd found a new species. Named it the Speckled Bravolicius.
I was disappointed to learn of it's previous discovery. My quest continues.
Thanks, JB. If only...Keep the "Bravolicius" on ice, you may yet find need of it..

Some beauties, Steve. The hummer, deerkill and the cleanly perched nutmeg are standouts in this series.
Ken
Thanks, Ken. Sure is challenging using the 500 f/4 plus 1.4TC and just trying to find the tiny dang Nutmeg in the frame. For once, he was a willing subject...

Great set Steve. 1,2,3,4 & 8 are my fav. Well done with your new toy, and congrats
Thanks, Migara. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but seems like my rush to be first in-line at Amazon for pre-ordering the 7D before anything like a review came out worked out ok.

Wonderful shots, can you tell me how you processed these? Were they shot in Raw?
Jeanette
Hi Jeanette,
Yes, these were shot in RAW,then sharpened, adjusted and converted to JPEG in Canon DPP's RAW software, then tweaked slightly further with Paint Shop Pro X2's Smart Photo FIx, finally ending up with a slight levels adjustment. That's my standard workflow nowadays.
