Holy cow. I still think it's a UFO. That 'story' sounds like a perfect cover-up. Don't you find it ironic that it's always a 'weather satellite' that's blamed?

V.
I'm really leaning the same way as V.
After first seeing your photos I was intrigued enough to do a little research on it and I found that fuel dumps are pretty common and there are photos of these "fuel dumps". The photos I came across look absolutely nothing like yours in any way. They look, well, like how you'd expect a fuel dump in space too look like. Just a bland mist of unorganized spray.
Furthermore, one of my relatives worked for Boeing for a long time designing satellite technology's and defense systems that were at the time top secret. I shared your photos with him and he said, "I've seen many fuel dumps before, what this guy has photographed is something entirely different. But what it is, I don't know." Now let me mind you, this relative of mine is a very educated person and never jumps to any kind of conclusion other than a scientific explanation but your photos stumped him. He's looking into it as well now.
Amazing shots - the star shots alone would be quite nice but what you have captured is quite a remarkable sight indeed.
I wil stay out of the debate over exactly what you have managed to photograph here as I am not a subject matter expert in any field relevant to any part of this.
Amazing shots, what fantastic luck to have your equipment and skill there and ready to capture this.I'd be interested to hear how a fuel dump could cause a phenomenom like this...

Beautiful shots and I love the fact that you captured the milky way in the third photo. Please post exif info inc camera and lens. Gorgeous. dave
Impressive. It's one thing to be lucky enough to see the thing, but it's quite another to have the equipment on hand, and the appropriate skillset, to take advantage of the moment. I remember a few years ago there was quite a light show in San Diego thanks to some rocket launches from Vanderbergh AFB, but while I stood around being captivated by it, I hadn't the equipment, or likely the talent, to catch the beauty that you've picked up here. Wonderful stuff.
