Good to see you here, Mr. Leung! and I think I may have seen some of these shots in another time/place? ;-) Nice set...that D3 does night-time very nicely!
Hi Jim! Thanks! I guess you mean dpr? It's been kind of quiet around that part of town, hasn't it? D3 is quite nice at night... this was around 10pm!

I guess i live in nyc, so i'm not as excited about time square..lolz But nonetheless, those are some great shots! Love the theater shots! Gave me a impression of how it might look like in the old days when theater was big!
Thanks CTX!! I feel the same way when walking around in NYC. Sometimes it's hard to see what others see when it is in front of us all the time.

Leung, your images are incredible! Out of curiosity, what lens did you use and what focal length did you use for the images above?
Thanks Sam!! I used the Nikon 24-70. I believe it was on 24mm most of time. I shot them at f/4 or f/8 for most shots. For the panos, it was f/8.
Ask them to cite the section of the municipal code which they believe affects your shooting. They may not have read it, or be well-versed.
I was told to not use a tripod atop the TKTS staircase platform by a Public Safety officer because the metal spikes at the feet could damage the glass. Since I was done shooting anyway and it was a bit cold, I didn't bother asking more. I just packed it in.
NYC is an fairly interesting place I and I should get there more often while my cousin still lives there. 180 degrees from Los Angeles, that's for sure.

That's actually not true. You are allowed to use a tripod without a permit. You're just not allowed to use lights without one. NYC cops tend to confuse this.

Hello Warhead! That shot was a panorama, where I stitched together several shots to achieve that perspective.
