Zeiss look or not, there are a lots of great images in this thread, but I *really* like the simplicity of this one -- it takes a viewer to the water. Flawless execution. --tom

Richard, lots of great shots, but your Distagon 21 ones just make me climb up the wall. I have been waiting going on one year for Zeiss to release the ZE. Ziyadj, you make it worse by demonstrating that not only Richard can do it with this lens. Oh well, mine is supposed to ship this week according to Zeiss France. If they are to be believed...

Sorry for intruding here, and maybe it's dumb to ask, but are there any lenses out there that deliver this "look" for a low price? Or, to put it another way, what's the cheapest lens that will provide this look?

How cheap is cheap?
Some Zeiss lenses are "reasonably cheap". Zeiss 50f1.7 for around $125, Zeiss 50f1.4 for $175, and Zeiss 28f2.8 for around $250...
