Watch out for J & R...
They did a bait and switch on me.
When I ordered it Tuesday, they said it was in stock.
Two hours later it was out of stock online.
I waited until today to call about the order.
They now say its on back order.
What BS. This is why I try not to use J & R.
Last time I ordered something they held it until I called them.
Amazon is soooo much better. I wish they had it in stock.
So now I have all the accessories but no camera
c'est le vie..
Rather than attribute bad, dishonest intentions to them ... possibly a better view might be that their inventory/ordering system might have some weaknesses in it. I've purchased from them many times with great results ... including a 7D arriving tomorrow. I've made big returns with them that have also gone smoothly. I do understand your disappointment. I really think their inventory or planning system is not that great. I called earlier this week to get a status on my 7D order. They told me Oct 9th. Then it shipped the next day.
Gueez.. Ive ordered from J&R in the past and ordered my 7D from them Yesterday and it showed up today!
BTW, what you are explaining is NOT a bait and switch... If you would of ordered it and then they call back and say a "SUBSTITUTE" is available and get you to get that one, that is a bait and switch...

That's interesting. I have tried three cameras at different shops and they all demonstrated this issue to some degree. Can you upload the ISO 100 RAW to rapidshare and post the link?
Thanks
Did a closer inspection. Only the blue and red channels are affected. The green channels are fine. This is probably why the banding is not too obvious. I guess my copy is similar to the third one you tested?

IMO, the microadjustment is one of the best features Canon has come out with in the last couple years.
Agreed. One of my lenses needs it while the rest are OK. Funny thing is all the lenses have been adjusted for another camera (and they all test fine). Weird. But I really appreciate this feature.
Mine is arriving from Dury's of Nashville tomorrow! Yippee! only 3 days after I contacted them to see if they had a shipment in yet! ( I did pre-order) I bought my IDMKlll from them during the ordering craze also and was impressed with the way they handled that purchase as well. Good guys!
Mine came today. While I was waiting for the battery to charge I put a lens on and looked through the viewfinder and saw what looks like a film or coating (like on a windshield coated from closed windows in the sun) It is not a clear view. With the battery charged, I shot some pics, they are sharp and clear, so it must be in the viewfinder. Anyone else notice this? I read of black spots on somebodies post the other day but these are not black or spots more like a haze.

Normal. Should be something about it in the manual.

Didn't notice it in my VF but I don't usually look though it without the lens. Probably just some glare off the mirror.
Please don't mention black spot rumors unless you see proof No need starting that stuff up especially if you don't know the source, their abilities or motives.
My images look great, some people probably just have not got their cameras set up right yet. This is really a different camera compared to the xxD series and it will takes some practice and reading to get things right.
I was looking through the VF with a lens mounted. My images look great also, that was my point--through the VF is NOT sharp. I mentioned black spots as what this post is NOT about.
