Version 2.
I went a bit closer in a slightly different angle. Had to use a longer lens, because I wouldn't want to burn my dear old 85
Modified the fillstrobe a tad by creating a barndoor slit with a piece of cardboard,
and added a maclite to highlight the blade (might have overdone that)
Slightly longer exposure for the sparkles and about one Fstop smaller
Also added a bit more symmetry
Tried to keep the original coloring and feel, but added a bit more drama, with help of a goldreflector
Let me know if it improved -or not-
Thanks all for the comments and tips!

Version Final.
Some last PP modifications
Thanks to all who helped in this image,
Special thanks to Mike for his Masterclasses!
Hi RT,
I like it. Well executed on all levels. I feel the main light/flash is a bit forced straight on, muting some of the drama to be had. What can I say, I like drama. Great shot!

RT, I think your going to need some fill, or it's going to throw off your exposure, only capturing the sparks, if you shoot longer to compensate you’ll lose detail in the sparks creating just one big bright flow. If your by yourself or don't have super versatile light stands, grab a little goose-neck lamp with a 100w daylight bulb and duct tape a piece of white paper over the hood. Turn off all other lights and move the goose-neck lamp around the area with your free hand and position your glove hand as you were, but with the grinder off. See if anything strikes you as cool. Now with your glove hand hit your time delay also auto setting your exposure comp if let say you chose to shoot aperture priority. Your glove hand and sparks wont be in the shot for accurate exp but it will be close enough to stop up or down. Take a couple shots. You may need another light source/reflector for accent. Now fire up the grinder and you will get a super bonus to your already cool image. Having another person would help a lot. As you can tell, I have no friends Camera settings will be crucial, speed, ISO, DOF etc. but that is half the fun right? Just some thoughts RT. Not that you need it. There is no right or wrong way to do this stuff we try to pull off every week I think your post is fine as it is
