I used the Canon pack for a few weddings. It absolutely sucks. The Quantum packs are much better, reliable and powerful.

I'm looking into getting this also - last Saturday, I cooked the AA's in my flash... literally. I took the batteries out and they actually hurt when holding them in my hands. Anyone know if Nikon makes one of these and what's it called?

There's the SD-8A, which is the exact same thing as the Canon CP-E2 as far as I can tell.
Here's an ebay equivalent of the CP-E4, but in Nikon form...
