Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I was born and spent several years in Williamsport and my brother attended the baseball camps each summer at the "modern" Lamade Field location in S.Williamsport. My grandparents lived for a time across the West 4th Street bridge from Bowman Field in Newberry. Both sides of my family originate in Cogan Station.
Penn State? Did they actually play Penn State (exhibition) or do you mean the State College Spikes? The Spikes are the local Pirates Class A short season Affiliate. (I live in the area too)

Wonderful. I know we have always missed each other due to time constraints. Let's try and work something out this year. BTW... one of my favorite eating establishments in that area is Haywood's. We'll see if ButchM can join us.
Sounds good Paul, although my schedule for August is very fluid with a number of weather contingent jobs ...
Good to see plenty of folks here with a Billtown area links ....

Some tricky lighting to deal with on that field, especially in the evening. Shoot from the third base dugout well whenever you can to avoid the outfield sky backlighting from first base side.

Thanks for the heads up Paul .... I shot 22 consecutive series/district 12 championships (far fewer than Putsee) at Lamade ... but this will be the first at Volunteer ... I was going over lighting angles in my head and you just confirmed what I was thinking ....
Great ... I had a PW malfunction ... but fresh batteries fixed that ... I was on the third base side, my remote camera on the first base side and Lew started waving his arms to let me know something was up ... so I gots lotsa deleting to do ...
I really overshot the two games ... lot of editing to do .. we had fun even though both teams I was asked to shoot lost ... but hey ... that's the way it goes sometimes ... great crowd and a wonderful summer night under the lights ... only disappointment was I missed my grandson's game over at original field ... but they won 10-7 and play in the finals tomorrow .... I'll post a few from tonight as I get time ...
