I just do not see why you would want to use an EOS lens on the GF-1. If you have to carry around an EOS body to change the aperture? Why not just use the canon?
Has anyone tried the leica 28mm R lens. I am sorry I sold mine now. This seems like it might be a great combo

Generally the main reason to want a EOS adapter is to make use of EOS adapted lenses.
There's a few cases, like the T/S lenses, where you can set & forget aperture and get some abilities that are otherwise unavailable but generally adapting EF-native lenses is likely not an attractive solution for the m43 bodies.

Exactly. I have a few Voigtlander Leica thread mount and Pen F lenses for focal lengths from 12mm to 50mm, which gives effective focal lengths of 24mm to 100mm on my E-P1. For longer focal lengths, I can use my EOS-adapted Nikon F and Pentax lenses, like the relatively small SMCP-M 135/3.5 and Voigtlander APO-Lanthar 180/4.
While I primarily use the adapter to double-adapt my zuiko's, I have used a couple of the fast EF primes on the E-P1. Recently I have been shooting mostly fast primes wide open or at least close to it, so I didn't miss aperture control much.
I recently took the E-P1 + 35L with me one day when I was in an all day off-site meeting. There wasn't anywhere for me to keep my Mark III safely, but I was able to fit the E-P1 setup in my (fairly small) computer bag with no problem. As soon as the meeting got out I went shooting for the last hour or so of daylight.
Adapting EF lenses is hardly ideal, but it can work.

I usually have a Canon with me when I am out shooting. But those days I don't I preset the lens to the aperature I prefer. I like the EF 15mm Fisheye I usually set it to F11 for landscape shooting. I also like the Rokkor 58 and the tilt Shifts.
Beyond that haven't really used any other EF lens (50 1.0 a few times but only wide open so it doesn't count). But it is nice to know I have the capability should I ever decide to use them, even if it is not the ideal way to use it.

1. I usually shoot wide open so this issue is not a big deal for me.
2. My plans to purchase the 7D and 100/2.8 IS mean that it will be quite some time until I can afford and additional system. Until then, Canon will probably introduce a mirrorless cam of their own and point #1 will not be relevant at all.....
