A tragic casualty of the American Dream; an aging salesman who has lost his job because of encroaching senility, has been forced to shed all illusions of success and confront his failed career and crumbling family life…
I like this shot. It helps knowing the subject matter, but you've captured the mood well. The composition is nicely claustrophobic, overbearing. Well done!

Superb shot. Had to study the play at school - the core themes still hold true today....
Yes, probably now more than ever during these rocking times. Thank you. 15Bit!

Very powerful and moving entry. Super sharp, crisp contrast, perfect framing and great conversion or was it shot in b&W?
Best of luck,
Tom
Thanks Tom, I did the conversion with Photoshop trying to get the look of classic black and white photography…

I’m so glad you appreciate the composition! It was carefully planned to accentuate his desperation and the sadness of not finding anything at “the end of the road”…

Evokes the era with great skill and props. Bet that's a double breasted suit he's wearing as well.
You’re absolutely correct Bill, my model was wearing an old double-breasted jacket. Thank you…
jban99,
I can really feel the emotion in this shot. The B&W delivers the mood spot on. I even feel a touch sorry for the fellow. The image is crisp and the composition is perfect. Well done!
very moving and emotionally touchy, talks volumes even with out the description. His bags don't look heavy but the weight carried on his shoulders is enormous, head hanging dejected, the path he is walking doesn't look he is going some where but show he is getting away from some place. Great composition!
Thank you very much for the nice comments, Nick, James, Tim, Yakim, Carolyn and Spark, sorry for the delayed response!
We tried very hard to recreate the mood of the very unpleasant (and universal) feelings experienced by the salesman in the classic movie.
Spark, you are so right! He’d been pushed to abandon his only “life" to suddenly realize that the future (empty road) didn’t have anything to offer…
