Item: CamerQuest adapter CO/Y- EOS
Tom aka Thomas E. of the north shipped me the adapter immediately, and I mailed him a money order asap. The adapter is in great shape as promised, and he was fun to deal with, especially when we were both sleep deprived ;-) It was very cool that he shipped before I paid. Moments like this make me love this forum.
WOW! I cant believe I got a used CameraQuest adapter! Its almost like new - thanks, Tom in mpls! You rock!!!
I wish I was as happy with my purchase from Tony as cdgerston was. Despite assuting me that there was no dust in the lens he could see, and advertising the glass as "immaculate," the lens has several pieces of dust and dirt in it (including a few big ones) which were immediately noticeable when I got the lens. Otherwise the lens seems to work fine and I hope the dirt/dust won't make a difference in terms of flare/contrast. I contacted Tony and he still says he doesn't remember there being dust in the lens and asked me to show it made a difference in the results I am getting (while a few test shots did not show anything, I don't know if it will make a difference in time and it would make reselling this lens a bit harder over time).
Assuming he is telling the truth, the only explanation I can think of is that a bunch of dust and dirt particles got into the lens during shipment, if this is possible. I should have insisted that he send me a photo looking through the glass before I bought it rather than rely on his representation.
Tony may be a good guy - I just had a disappointing experience with him.
