Gene forget the squirrel as these are really fine photos of what I would think to be a female from the looks of the beak in #1 photo. That squirrel can be glad it wasn't a red tail sitting there. Great capture

I was wondering was the squirrel captured by the Baldie and then while in the nest came to and got the heck out of their? Just maybe he was a smart critter and played dead

No... no capture of the squirrel. Everything was very quiet in the nest and then the Eagle started getting very agitated and started looking down. The Eagle then started flapping its wings and I started clicking!!
I think the squirrel was just checking out that tree for food or perhaps it likes eggs but did not realize the type of eggs that were in the nest!
