Ram, I just saw these images - they are simply amazing! I am curious - what lens (focal length) do you normally shoot with for these types of flower abstracts?

Nikon User but Flowers nonetheless . Some abstracts from Tulips shot earlier this week.
I use 200mm F/4 Micronikkor (equivalent in Canon is 180mm F/3.5L), 105mm F/2.8 VR Micronikkor, 50mm F/1.8 Lens with 25mm (previously) and 36mm (now) extension or Lensbaby Composer with Macro Diopters.
I most often use the 200mm lens for formal close-ups while the rest for more creative shots.
Were you looking for any other information ? I shall be glad to share.

Sorry about that Jamach - Petkal asked me to post nevertheless. Frankly the brand does not matter. For every Nikon Lens, there is a Canon equivalent Lens as well.

LMAO, and I thought it was done with Canon gear
don't get defensive and kudos to Peter the Great, the master cop of The Flowers. I used to be a Nikon photog and did not find too many friends over there. So, I suggest you stand by your work and enjoy the camaraderie among picture makers, no matter the brand. We are indeed fortunate to have a forum to show some of our work without self diagnosed experts decrying any artistic expression beyond the snapshot.

Indeed I have, Ram.
I think in a thread like this, the gear make we use is important, however, so is the vision, technique, style and concept that photographers share. IMO Ram has a very unique, very refined vision that many of us can benefit from, whether we choose to follow it, adopt some of it, or not.
I think it is fortunate for all of us that this thread has attracted many good practicing photographers.......including Ram, Joe, Bobby etc. etc. That's why the thread has maintained its popularity for over a year now, with 100s of wonderful images posted.
Karl....That first one is just awesome....Excellent pattern of unopened flowers and the slight "S" curve to the entire cluster...Almost a "dainty" innocent appearence.

Thanks Peter .... but Ram is in a class of his own. He has the eye/vision, artistic interpretation and composition, and the technical skills to make these images sing. Ram's work is very inspiring and motivating to me .... so keep those images coming, Ram!

I think you guys are all bored, you sound like that anyway. In no way have I stated anything against Ram, in fact, I have praised his work and will do so again.
My earlier statement remains, I RTFLMAO that he used Nikon gear, that seemed funny to me and then posting in the Canon forum, and his pictures being sio superb. His talent is gear independent surely!
In no way is anything I have said even remotely sound like a negative statement to have Ram participate since he is a Nikon shooter.
So, I have n say in any decisin making at all, and have enjoyed Ram's work immensely, again. I am merely a poor peon photog enjoying the craft and sharing pictures and looking at other's work.
If the boredom continues please go out and do some pics to share, I plan on posting some later tonight...
