Pixel Perfect, would you mind saying what software you use for focus stacking? I've got CZP, which if I remember correctly was free. I'd be interested to learn if there's something you'd regard as superior.

I think I used that, although I did briefly trial a helicon focus, which was better IMO, but haven't been as active with macro for a while and didn't bother buying it. I am hoping to get back into full swing again on macro when it cools down some. Might try for some dragons next week at the local lake.

I was reading about some new software that sounds interesting for stacking. called

Photo Acute Software.

Also apparently CS4 can do stacking.

Thanks CP, I was thinking how nice that shot of the plumbago(?) is with the 125.

Whayne, it is one of the many varieties of plumeria commonly found here.

Is that really a blue frangipani? Never knew they came in a blue, that's why it's so pretty.

Thanks for showing that one coder, I keep getting tempted to sell my 90mm for lack of use and then I see an image like this to remind me why I bought it in the first place. If I don't use it by the end of May though its going on B&S with all of about 150 shots on it.

It's cold so I am cleaning up the hard drive from last year and I've found a few that I missed that have some potential. I'll start with this one.

Your flower shots are fantastic regardless of the lens you use.

Love that last one Whayne, right up my alley!

First one is a 300mm F4 with a 1.4x TC on it and the second is just the 300. Yes, I did shoot it that way on purpose. No, I was not smoking wacky weed though it might have helped.

Went down to the NW Garden Show before the weekend masses and was able to capture some nice shots amongst the flora. A group of florists were doing arrangements out front and this one with the twisting branches, bottles of wine and sunflowers really caught my eye.

Fun, isn't it! Two things will improve your capture rate. 1.) Use a tripod. 2.) Rock in or out while shooting a sequence. This will help deal with both body movement and wind.

A lot of times I will put the tripod on two legs and rock in and out to smooth my motion flow. This stops the side to side movement that one gets from a monopod.
