This is an autumn bloom locally called "hearts-a-bustin'"; I made the photo last October, but I thought this would be an appropriate first post after lurking around for several years...
With the 5D Mk II and 70-200 f/2.8 Mk. II, at ISO 200 and 1/160 second, with a background of oak and hickory trees in their fall finery...
Cloud Ballet-Bearded Iris. Very large clump, have had it for 3 yrs now. Each stalk will have 8-10 flowers, the clump has 5 stocks shooting up to bloom. I will post as soon as she opens...spring is in the air....

Glad to read Spring is in the air where you live, too. After today's balmy 37 F we're down to just over 2 feet of snow on the ground! (Around here, we actually feel Spring is near )
