p.1 #1 · Zork MFS Tilt Lens Review

http://www.davidclapp.co.uk/articles.php

Hello all,

Just in case you are interested in using tilt lenses like me, I have just added an article to my site looking at how tilt can be used to spice up your photography and how it's so utterly useful for macro photography.

I continue to be amazed by the Zork MFS (multi focus system) and as spring nears here in the UK I will be using it much more. Its a really killer bit of kit that doesnt get spoken about too much on this forum, so I thought I would write an article about it.

Many thanks

David

I have the Zörk Panorama Shift adapter. Quality products, no doubt. I've long thought about getting the MFS -- it would go great with the Rodagons and Luminars I have. However, it is quite expensive (at least in US$) for what it is. He should get it mass-produced in China so he can sell for a quarter of the price. Until then, perhaps an adapted view camera will do just as well (if a bit more clumsily).

The MFS costs US$549 from the US distributor (more like an order facilitator). You can find a price list at www.zoerk.com.

p.1 #6 · Zork MFS Tilt Lens Review

Hi David

I have just bought the 45 mm canon tilt shift and was also considering the 90mm but after seeing your article i will go for this when i recover from this purchase.

I love the idea of the tilt shift as the perspective problems and lack of focus range has always made me really unsatisfied with the 35mm system.

Great

Jane

You sound like you could do with the 24mm TS-E for landscapes. Unshifted, the mk1 lens is total knockout, but does suffer from CA and softness when shifted past 7mm. Still, I use it on the 1DsIII with confidence, especially as a 24mm landscape lens. The depth of field it can achieve is ridiculous, everything from a foot and a half to infinity. That would make you very satisfied with the 35mm system once more I am sure.

The Zork is in a league of its own, but doesnt have shift remember.... I use it as a macro all the time.

Hi David
The 24mm is on the radar but I am waiting for the mark 2
when I get a contract renewed it's my first purchse

I decided to go for 45 first and experience the tilt shift phenomenon before shelling out on the 24
the problem is I hang around with large format photographers and have envied their tilt shifts for a long time but don't want to go LF
the live view on my new camera allowed the posibilty of using the tilt shift effectively

No problem. I posted the article in March, so sorry if anyone thinks its new. I do plan to do anther one on using the 24mm TS-E for landscapes, using tilt in specific, with accuracy and utilising Live View like Jane mentions. Tilt is such a brilliant feature that is often overlooked. Nice to see you using it creatively. Your shot works really well.

Large format boys; even more geeky than I am!
