The page says "Free AF accuracy checks and adjustments will be provided to affected products."
How to determine if my product is affected? Is there a serial # list somewhere? Or are all cameras affected? A little confused about this one...

Send it in, they'll test it. There is no specific set of serial numbers.
Is there any doccumentation on that? I went to local service center (Taiwan...) and they say my camera is outside mirror box fix numbers... which is not why I went there. Difficult to communicate in English around here.
Got mine back yesterday and havent had a chance to really test it. My joystick does not seem to cause it to focus though, like it did last time I tried both setting for CF 10 and neither caused it to focus, but it seems to reach the same when I punch it whether its turned on or off. it goes between center, which I have a my default and whateever point I was on before that. I dont think that is how it is supposed to be but I can tell no difference.

I'm not sure that there is any specific documentation to that fact, but that is what I was told when I contacted Canon Service. The tech told me that the only way to tell was to send it in and have it tested and calibrated.

The November 2007 and April 2008 service notices had serial number ranges.
The two notices just released do not - there is no mention of serial numbers in either of the notices on the Canon web site.
That is exactly the way I understood it.. but still the nice people at canon taiwan say my s/n is not in the mirror box repair range, or something to that effect. Just wonderful.
I called Thursday and they said my number was not in the recall 564xxx, I called back Friday and they said it was in the affected cameras and I should send it back and I would be receiving the label on Monday. I don't want to take any chances so I am sending it in for the fix. I also went ahead and registered so I could get the $100 voucher

My SN544xxx was not in the mirror box range either, my mk 3 is a blue dot and is on its way home with a couple of washers replaced and AF adjustments.
Service Details on my returned camera: 1Ds MK III.
"We have examined the product according to your request, and, it was found the part was inoperative. The part was replaced. LEVER ASS'Y, SH CHARGE, SCREEN, FOCUSING, WASHER (SUS). Checked all, adjusted focus and exposure, cleaned to factory specs. Cleaned c-mos."
During testing (I own most Canon L lenses)
Not one of my lenses required a af micro adjustment and the camera no longer 'jiggles' the af!!!!!
Thanks Canon just 2 years late!!!!
No field testing yet but this looks VERY hopeful to fix the issues with these cameras.

Well I got my MK III in May 2007 so I'd say its pretty close lol
1Ds3. The full frame version, he wrote. Started shipping in November. Not sure what you had in May, but my gut feeling is it wasn't what he's talking about.
Maybe he'll start leaking hints that another test has been done in a month, but this has the potential to drive traffic for 3-6 months if he drags his feet like last time.
