If you do not know those photographers, look them up. Ian is one of the top Fitness and bodybuilding photographers on the planet, and a member of FM. He posts when he can which is not as often as I would like him to, but if you pick up any fitness magazine out there today, you will find a bunch of his photos. Muls, or Ed Mulholland is the top boxing photographer working today, but he finds the time to post here, a little more than the others. Kurt Jones, one of if not the best surf photographer ever to grace fredmiranda.com ever, but besides still photos, works as a videographer for a CBS prime time show and has very little time with his family let alone FM, but still posts when he can.
What irks me is the fact that we get some of the top photographers in the world posting here and either they are run off by hundreds of questions that overwhelm them and the PM box, or someone who should have just kept their mouth shut says something to piss them off and they leave. When Mark first posted here, I was amazed. I really did not think he had the time to come here, thus my 8 days a week reference. Mark puts in so many hours working each week, that for most of us to even come close to the effort he puts in typically, we would have to have a 8 day work week.
You never have said anyone was less of a photographer, but that is the tone you were setting. An elitist tone that I will not tolerate here. I think you need to re-read your posts before you hit send. Because, obviously, I am not the only one who took offense to what you said. I have been here at FM for 5 years, moderator for 4 years, I have seen members who posted similar posts to what you have posted msauk and not just dropped it and moved on, but held onto that shovel and kept digging until Fred's only option was to ban them. Fred hates banning people, and I hate bringing those people to Fred's attention. But, when a members post start making the forums look poor, that becomes the only option. That is the road I am talking about.
In all honesty your first post on this thread should never have been made. This is not, I repeat, this is not a critique forum. People may post images and ask for critiques, you can give critiques if you want, but it is not required. The Sports Corner is a presentation forum and that is exactly what Mark did, presented his photos. Your second post should have stopped before you got to the word spam. The rest of the posts you made, the hole is getting deeper.
