Brought your image up on my monitor and the temperature immediately dropped. It really conveys a feeling of "cold" to me (a fellow Cannuck). I agree with Steve about the sense of barrenness in the distance. Well done.
You've created a desolate image here Doug that I immediately took a liking to. May we know what the sign represents? It looks very much like a railway crossing sign so I guess the tracks are buried under the snow.
