Nicely done Carrol, never too early to start saving.
I do have one question and a tiny critique though: firstly, I'm curious about why she is holding the coin between her thumb and middle finger, rather than using her index finger? Second, I'm a little uncertain about the ceiling growing from behind her head...
Regardless, an excellent image, and I expect, shall be a "treasured" memory. (Sorry! )
I like it!
First, to respond to some previous observations -
I don't think it's unusual to grasp a small or thin object between middle finger and thumb. For some people, it seems to give a little more control over fine movements.
I don't mind the ceiling edges. We see just enough to tell us that she's probably in her room, not in a studio setting. The contrasty lines may be a little stronger than ideal, but it doesn't really draw our gaze from her eyes and the coin.
I like the soft - but not flat - light, and the placement of every shape is perfect, even including the curls in her hair.
Very nice shot! You have done an excellent job on the conversion!
I am not a fan though of the had depositing the coin in the bank, It looks awkward to me, and of course... it could also be saying " f off this is my dime"...
