POP doesn't come from any particular camera. It is a result of a lot of factors. I often get it with my p&s and proper processing.,
I didn't know this thread was a chance for some to plaster a whole lotta images on the forum again. I don't see the purpose.
What ever!!! Lighten up! It was a question. You don't always have to see the purpose. If you don't see the purpose in the thread don't participate.

Maybe my question is weird, but I see a lot of excellent pictures taken by photographers who use 5D and 5DII. Pictures from 1DsMarkIII, wich is supposed to be a better camera (maybe not that much, but a little), do not give me the same WOW feeling, even with the same lens. Am I wrong or is it because excellent photographers with 1Ds3 don't share there work or maybe files from 1Ds3 don't pop on web ?
On second thoughts you're right Jeff - let's keep actual photos out of this... ;-)
BTW, nice shots Bruce! The last one has great 3D effect. Is that what's meant by 'pop'?

Since some people don't feel the need for photos I have removed mine. Pop comes from a combination of processing, light, depth of field. ect. It can be acheived by any camera.
This is one of the most pop inspiring photographs I've seen in a while
Nice to see someone is using a 6.5 k photographic tool to properly capture truly interesting pieces of human existence

Thanks Naz. Here's another which I like nearly as much. Unfortunately I was very rushed for this shot and missed focus, so the buffers have more pop than the real subject: hairy supergirl. The extremely casual and expedient composition works for me, because it only makes the subject matter seem more authentic, and therefore surreal. The rail worker on the extreme left is wearing a company jersey which reads 'making a difference'. The blue 'S' sign actually stands for Smith, a popular newsagent. Someone has asked why supertranny takes the train when flying would be so much quicker. Perhaps he is worried about catching a chill in that crop-top: http://cyberphotographer.com/1ds3/makingadifference.jpg
This is a 1Ds3 at night, at high iso (3200?) via a Contax N 24-85 Conurus converted lens at 85mm.

No it's Nice, and I got a strong sense that she was French, but that's a guess. If she were English I think you would be more likely to see the top half of her arse (bulging out of those horrible hipster jeans), rather than the nether half. The gentleman on the left is probably British though, as he looks to be of Indian ethnicity rather than Indochinois or African.
I was deceived by the english text on the easyjet ticket desk. And the gentleman's passport looks to have GB crest on the front.

The shutter speed was too slow so it's not bastard sharp. It's a 24-85 Zeiss zoom, which is not the sharpest lens in my bag either. Enough excuses, it's sharp enough for my satisfaction.

All Fm'ers should pay extra attention to this thread : this is what all 100% crops should look like, from now on ! To all the brick walls, boxes, cats and garage doors (pixel) peepers, when you're in that particular (pixel) peeping mood, these should be the only kind of photographic subjects that you should dedicate all your (and our ) peeping energy and resources to.
Thank you brainiac, again, for showing us the way .

Just been archiving a lot of 5D and 1Ds3 shots from the past year... I don't see any difference in "pop" between these two cams... However, I see way better color and deeper shadows on the 1Ds3 files...
