4B is a sweet little Regulus calendula.....you are doing awesome with the 50D Ms Bonnie.
And that 300 is a super piece of glass. The flyer in #1 has wonderful detail/exposure

Very good shots!!! I really like the duck in flight! When you say substantial crops, can you give me a rough percentage of the original frame?
Here you go. Brenton

Thanks, who knew that camera had so many pixels. I know I have a 40D, but I keep on thinking about another camera, but don't know if a new 50D would good against a used 1Dmk2n, the reason I say that I like the idea of using a TC on my 400mm 5.6 and having autofocus.
You should have just taken off the tc on 1! Great shot. Gotta love the golden eyes taken from your foxhole, wonderful images. Those kinglets are hard to get, congrats on that!
Ms. Shoveler looks really nice on the pond and in the air... very nice detail on both Bonnie.
Love Ms. Goldeneye even better... super sharp, great eye contact, nice exposure control.
Very nice series from your "limited shoot"... I should be so lucky.
