Ugh! Foiled again! HA! Just glad it is working. My 20D #2 backup crapped out last week with the curtain not opening when the mirror pops up. Still trying to decide what to do on that one. Oh well such is life!

It seems to me that the bottom has fallen out on 1DsMKII, 1DMKIII, 1DsMKIII, 5D bodies on B&S. An $8000 for under $5k(MKIII) the sMKII for under $3k more like $2.5K. A 20D for $200, a 5D for $1k or less or a few $100 more.
It appears to be a great time to buy if you have the money.

Go back and look at the predictions for when the 5D II would be released. It was about a year later than expected/hoped for.
That was just silliness. Canon was releasing consumer cameras at 18-month intervals and 1-Series cameras at 36-month intervals.
We didn't know which category the 5D would fall into, but it was silly to expect a new model in less than 18 months, and when that point passed, it was silly to expect the new model in less than 36 months.
When it passed the 18 month point, the Mark II was released exactly when I expected it: 36 months.
We have already been told by Canon that they have stepped the release of their consumer cameras to 12 months. They may shorten releases of the 1-Series, but they haven't said so yet, so there is no reason to expect it.

B&H is still selling a new 5D for $2000. You can buy a (8-rated) well-used 5D with dings for $1279. The B&H price continues to increase about a hundred for each half rating above the 8. So if you want to take a chance, possibly on a camera with close to 100,000 actuations, and looks like it has been to war then go for it. People who sell a LN 5D for $1200 are either desperate, or aren't following current price trends.
BTW: Prices on certain popular EF lenses have just increased. For example: 85 f1.8 was $329 a few days ago now costs $355.
