Technically #1 is pretty good, but the composition seems a bit off to me. With the mountains on either side and all the foreground "clutter" on the left side, the middle seems rather empty. I get the feeling that I want to step to the left or right and find a composition where the mountains play a bigger role.
#2 is a nice shot, but I think the mid-ground is covering up more background than I would like. As a result, there is a slightly claustrophobic feel for me.
I love #3! You've captured an awesome mood with this shot, and the quality of the light on the horizon is spectacular. The mountains play a nice role of keeping your eye in the composition, and the stumps in the water give a spooky feel. Very nice work!
Great set, Scott. I love the surprise of color in the second and the lovely mists in the third. I would love to see the first with the top of the tree included. Just a bit more on the top.
