1st Choice) Anything made by Eizo or Lacie.
2nd Choice) Apple Cinema Display

I've been using a Samsung 215TW for over two years and it's been marvelous.
I'm #3 - My 2005FPW (20") is the same as the 20" Cinema Display for half the price. I couldn't be happier with the screen. Though adding more real estate never hurts
Get the best you can afford. It's a vital part of your workflow if working digital.
I really love my Eizo, not only for it's accuracy, but also the quick and simple calibration (Eizo's color navigator software directly connects to the hardware of the monitor and bypasses the videocard; you can hook up your spyder or eyeone).

Whilst we are on the topic of monitors and instead of starting a new thread what do people think of the NEC 24" 2490? Considering purchasing this and a spyder calibrater http://www.nec.com.au/35B8633B78264A7E8071FC5FB9BC662C.htm
It appears (don't really know) to be a very nice S-PVA type panel. Viewing angles are good, color reproduction is better than any TN panel.
I just took delivery of the Eizo CE240W. Calibrated with an Xrite Eye One. Beautiful colors, although pricey. I wanted a NEC LCD2960WUSiSV, however, couldn't find one in stock any where.
