It's well over 25 years old...I'm not a lawyer, but nothing is sacred after that right
Hendrix is rollin' in his grave with all the ads that rip his licks these days...ya mean to tell me they're payin?! Doubt it.
Wrong.
Yes they are all paying. There is a lawyer in Century City and all his clients are dead Hollywood celebrites estates.
It's always a little bit sad to see photographers who should know better using other people's music for their own purposes, without permission.
Sampling is still a grey area AFAIK but to just put a song on your video and call it your own, just takes a lot of chutzpah.
Great promo piece. Looks like you are having fun. Brides will love the charm and potential good time using you as their photog. Creative, funny, fun - what more could you ask for?
The stills looked good too. Nice PS work.
Let us know how you end up using it. Its better that just a blog piece.
Great, now I'm going to be walking around all day singing that song! Same thing happens every time I watch 50 first dates (love that movie lol) Nice video..very cool.
this made me laugh just watching you work with the couple. you're so happy!
great stuff. great work.
and if i had never seen your work before i would totally hire you based off this video.
good luck!
I think you did an amazing job on your video. I love how each section revealed the image from that section as well. I know I always love to see that in the photog videos. Very entertaining!
woah!..didn't even notice this thread was still going... really greatful for everyone's comments in here. I think i'd really have to thank my friend for doing such an awesome job editing. Well it was mostly his wife that did it...
but i think im going to have to change the music and re-edit when i get the chance.
Anyway, thank you again and thanks for some of you who left some blog love...
Love that you had the pics there so you can see the end result from each shot!! All of which were great! Looks like the couple had a fantastic time as well and that I'm sure will speak volumes to future clients!!
Nice video. Now have your lawyer secure permission to use that song. As a photographer, you should know about copyrights. Heck, even "Happy Birthday" is still copyrighted and that was created around 80 years ago or so.
Just because you took a photo over 25 years ago doesn't mean it's public domain, either.
Not trying to be rude. I don't want you getting in trouble!
