Thanks everyone for the nice compliments and for those that asked, here is a few shots of the lighting set up that we used for this shoot. Everything was done with a one light set up and images 1 and 5 are natural light.
All of these images were taken at the lighting and composition workshop that we hosted with Evan Baines. I grabbed these shots as examples to show the students what I was doing and why so they would have a good starting point. These were all shot here in Franklin, TN at the Factory.
Softbox is a Westcot 24x32
Light is a Photogenic powerlight 500 watts
Powered by the Vagabond from Alien Bees

Evan and I have actually talked about doing some workshops in other areas. We were just in Raleigh for 9 days with some family too and had a blast!
Let us know the interest and we may set it up for the spring!! Serious!!

Dude, these are awesome. Next time you're in town (Raleighwood)... do let me know, and we should setup something like this just for fun.
That is a C-stand by Avenger we are using to hold up the light rig. I actually bring that big sucker to weddings! It is heavy, but I would rather have the stability of a really good stand than have my gear fall over (or on) to something or someone. It also has a really small foot-print so you can get it in almost anywhere.
Shot six was a light agreement shot where the sun was going in the same direction as my soft box. She was standing in the shade of some big trees that were directly behind me. Shooting in that direction makes it look more natural and also makes it easier to turn the sky blue since you are not fighting with the sun. We then turned the whole thing around and shot into the sun with the trees behind her (image 7).
Cheers for the setup pics they are great. You said you used natural light for the first 5 pics however they look like they have off camera lighting. Are you using reflectors to bounce natural light to gat the filled look?
