I got the err 20 today. I removed and installed the battery at least 20 times and still... err 20. It wouldn't snap a single image. I've had my 5D2 since Dec 26 so there's no exchanging it for a new one. However, when I got home I downloaded & installed the latest firmware and it seems to be working normal again. I'll sleep a little better tonite. I just hope it never happens again. Up til now I've had ZERO trouble with the camera.
just adding myself to the list og 5D mkrII owners which get the err20.
This one was just taken out of the box..got err20 right away, not even shot a single frame.
Will send it back for a replacement.
All of this while am wating for my 50D to be repaired.. gezz what a luck i've been having with canon
I got my camera warrentied june30th or so. Took 3 weeks. Got the camera Back.

a
Aug.28th- Packed up my bags, Assembled with 24-105 lens, 16GB Kingston X133 Card and headed on a Bus crawl to Banff to work a DJ show the Promoter begged me to goto. Even though i had to leave at 5am the next morning.
Used the camera for 10 minuets, got ERR 20. I could get it to go away randomly turning the camera off/on and removing the battery & swapping out the camera card, however the problem persisted throughout the night, good thing my XTI with 2 years of usage was outdoing the $4000 Brick i now had and i could finish the night, without the HD video i was there for.
I used Saneal Cameras in Calgary, Terrible service, they most likely will not replace the body. They are going to be getting one angry individual to their store Monday morning. And I payed 25$ to have it shipped, better not kick me in the nuts twice as im pretty sure it will get ugly!
*UPDATE
Took my mom into saneal as i am a pretty calm individual.
Saneal said they cannot do anything at that store and i have to take the camera to the main store where i bought it, they may replace the body, but most likely have to send it in again to canon. They claim it is a CF card malfunction, canon said it is just a general error code.
To get rid of the code i turned camera on & off, replaced card with different card, and took lens off, sometimes it worked, sometimes it didnt work.
Good thing i do not need my camera for next two weeks for races & gigs that will pull in big $$.........
