Well it's 'sheilas' and that's slightly different, not a particularly respectful term. I learnt after moving here that if you refer to women in the office as girls they think you're being sexist. In Australia if you refer to the girls in the office as women they think you're calling them old
On topic I'm pretty laid back on other (non-professional) shooters at my events. I even had one guy ask to borrow my strobes (and PW trigger). I complied and even helped him set up the right aperture, wb and shutter speed. I'm waiting for the day someone asks to borrow my D3 so they can take a shot on their flash card
I did a wedding a few weeks back as a portrait photographer and when the hired pro walked in and saw me standing there with about $20K worth of high end Nikon gear et al the look on her face was priceless. We got talking later and she was quite friendly once she realized I wasn't playing in her space.

Wow... you must be the nicest guy ever. I would feel very uncomfortable letting complete strangers borrow any of my stuff. Oh, and If I had a D3, I would turn into Golem from Lord of the Rings.
I can't stand that commercial. I nearly turn the TV off when it comes on. I have to admit, though, that the latest Sharapova commercial (Canon) is absolutely hilarious. It takes a good sport to make fun of yourself in a commercial. Beats the old ones -- they did well to build on their own commercials.
This will probably make me a canon user for life -- don't know if I can go with a camera company who would hire Ashton Kutcher for its commercials.
