Very nice set Tim, and looks like you all had a wonderful time together. How do you like your 50D? I see you have done lots of 1000 ISO plus captures and it looks very good "websize", can you rate the ISO performance of 50D?
Garen
Garen, thanks for the kind words.
Yes I do like the 50d, I had a 40d and decided to try the 50d. I do like it better. It is better at higher ISO than the 40d but I don't think it can touch MKlll that you have.

Hold this spot...my boss is coming
Ok back home now
Maaan light was bad indeed I don't even go out usually w light like this! I have like a mental block for higher than ISO 800 light condition must be old habits from the XT
I like the sandpipers the most here! great angle and nice dof ! still managed to capture good details even at ISO 1000!
#1 is good too but the whites look blueish on my monitor
Hey remember Bonnie's spots so we can give'em a try next summer or do we have to pay her any rights?
Was thinkin' the other day maybe we can all get together for a shoot next summer: me,you,Bonnie,Jay,Tom. Sounds like a pack of wolves we'll chase the life out of those birds ...Show more →
Thanks Nello! Surfing the net at work are we I would never do that. Sure we should try to all get together next summer, that would be a lot of fun! We would scare all the birds away but we wouldn't care

Tim,
beautiful series & it looks like you managed real well in the light you had. I've already posted this to Bonnie, but here you get is as well. When Ross & I come up to WA next I'm really hoping to meet up with you, Marla & Bonnie. Ross will spend the day with his mother in Port Angeles.
Pintail is for some reason my favorite - - it just speaks to me.....
Lil
Thanks Lil, we did have fun. Sure come on up and we can all get together. It will be a lot of fun. That and you'll see some beautiful country, well except for the pulp mill
Ted ellis wrote: Tim it certainly can be fun to bump elbows with a celebrity photographer.

That had to be a nice day Tim as to meet up with another FMer is always a lot of fun. The photos look really nice also. So your in the North West are you Thats where I shipped out from in 1951 and I even got a tatoo and a few other things but like Lil I'll keep that to myself My God it rained a lot there as I recall.

Glad you like the shots Lou, maybe a shot would have cleared up some of the other things you got when stopping by here. We get about the same amount of rain per year you do. It just rains more days but lighter rain

Nice shooting in gloomy light, Tim. The Western Sandpiper is really precious in my eyes.

excellent work Tim, composition and exposure are first rate
You lucky dog, Tim Lucky that you got to go our shooting with Bonnie and she didn't you in the process. I am kind of envious, Bonnie being such a sweet gal and all that, and you of all people got to spend time with her. All I got for my recent travels to Bosque was a visit with the Monkey
My favs in this set are the micro pipers - cute littel buggers that they are.
Very nice set, Tim. Sorry about the weather - we went to the Longbeach Peninsula for several days and with the exception of one day, the weather was baaaaad. Sounds like you had a great time and despite the weather obstacle you got great results.

Truer words were never spoken Ken, I was a lucky dog! In these parts you take FMers you can find so poor Bonnie ended up with me!!
The pipers were sooo much fun to shot. We both got down real low and these little guys came running by. When it was over we both stood up laughing our azzes off!!
Thanks Ken!

Ugg Maggie, I have been to Longbeach in stormy weather, that can be baaddd!
Bonnie and I did indeed have fun despite the weather. I know we both must have tossed a bunch in the dust bin!! Thanks for the good words.
