Anybody have any ideas why the canon software isn't recognizing my 40d even though it should work?

Eos Utility isn't on the solution disk from Canon?? It's not on it when I install it onto my PC but when I installed it onto my Mac I got EOS utility, that's what I need to be able to run that shutter count program.

Oh, wait on the disk it says EOS utility 2.3 is on the disk, but hen I install it there is no EOS utility, what the heck is going on

For any 30D or less owners, do not waste your time. It does not work with those models.

I know this is an old topic, but after my cf card failure, the file numbering restarted. (Which I thought was a camera error) After using the .exe in the link, the shutter count said is right. Good program!

There IS a Mac download, took 3 secs to get the count...oh yeah I had to hit 1 button to get it

Ya, I downloaded the Mac version, didn't work on mine, but I got it to work on my Pc
