Useless for accuracy and hunt a lot. Two 5D's, calibrated by Canon, lenses from f1.4-f4. Indoor to outdoor.

That is why I am not buying the 5DII and I am quite confident using it on my 1DIII & 50D for that alone.

They only see contrast in one axis, not like the cross-type middle sensor which sees horizontal and vertical.
Knowing that makes it a lot less random.
